About The Friendship Inn

Tervetuloa Ystävyyden MajataloonThe Friendship Inn is located at an idyllic spot beside Pern lake. We are a sweet, old-style Inn with extra warmth and heart. The cuisine is traditional Finnish food and the accommodations are moderate, but comfortable and homey.  Here you can relax, enjoy the fresh Finnish nature, bathe in the sauna, take a cross-country skiing trip or just sit by our beautiful lake terrace and enjoy the sunset. Be sure to check out pictures of the Inn in the image gallery.

In addition to being an Inn and offering the usual B & B-services we also rent our facilities out for social occasions such as wedding parties, celebrations or class reunions. If you are a course leader trying to find a good spot for your group, the Inn is a perfect location for that.

We are a non-profit organization that runs primarily on voluntary work and donations. Our philosophy is in Christian hope and encourages honest encountering.  We have a relaxed atmosphere without pretentiousness or religious pressure.  Here you can breathe freely and follow your own heart.

Besides the usual Bed & Breakfast, you can also put up your tent or park your trailer car on our front yard and just use our facilities. Prices for camping are negotiated separately.

What else we offer: Voluntary work, courses and counseling

If you are interested in staying an the Inn for a longer period of time you can rent a room here or pay for your stay with voluntary work.  This usually involves helping in the kitchen, renovating, mowing the lawn, taking care of the garden, cleaning etc. We always welcome a helping hand.

Along with the usual accommodation we also offer courses on self-knowledge, human relationships, Indian cooking, art, writing therapy and much more. Most of our courses are led by Daniel and Raili Nylund but we also have many guest course leaders. The language used is generally Finnish, but we occasionally get visitor course leaders that like to stick to English.

When in a personal crisis, you will find help and the possibility for meetings and discussions privately. The Friendship Inn is also a good place to recover and collect yourself when you wish to do it on your own. Personal counseling is available in English as well. All inquiries must be done through contacting us first by email or phone.

Donations

Since the entire Inn is maintained in the spirit of non-profit voluntary work, you are welcome to donate to our cause. The money will go to keeping the premises functional and aesthetic. You can find payment details on the Contact page.
